Nestled among the towering fir trees, the historic Rice Museum houses one of the world’s finest collections of rocks and minerals. With extensive galleries, touchable specimens, and skilled tour guides, we create a layered educational experience for students of all ages. Tour topics include rock and mineral formation, fossilization, geologic time, Earth resources in our everyday lives, and more.

Museum In Your Classroom

The Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals offers a wide variety of portable earth science programs to schools, home schools, and groups. This program truly brings the museum to your school! From kindergarten through 12th grade, we can address Earth Science topics at your students’ level. Museum Educators use Next Generation Science Standards to connect your students to Earth Science.
