The historic Rice Museum houses one of the world’s finest collections of rocks and minerals. With extensive galleries, touchable specimens, and skilled museum hosts we create a layered experience for visitors of all ages. We offer both guided tour programs and unguided group visits. 

Our building capacity allows us to accommodate up to 54 people per guided experience program visit. For groups larger than 54 attendees please contact us at to explore custom options.
The Museum has limited accessibility. There is no food on-site, however an outdoor picnic area is available. 

Self-Guided Small Groups of 1-14

Small groups may come in for unguided visits during normal business hours. Museum staff and volunteers are available to answer questions and point out items of interest throughout the facility. Admission is made on the day of your visit in the museum gift shop.

Self-Guided Large Groups of 15-40

$200 Flat rate admission for unguided groups of 15-40 attendees when scheduled and paid in advance.
Payment is made at the time of scheduling through the website. There are no refunds.

Guided Group Experiences

$175 for 2-27 attendees (adults and children)
$300 for between 28-54 attendees (adults and children)
Guided Experience topics include rock and mineral formation, fossilization, geologic time, history of the museum and more! Group tours are available by pre-registration only.

Due to availability we are not able to offer Guided Programs at this time.
