Summer Reading Challenge

We believe reading is a gateway to success in life, and summer reading is a tradition that promotes reading for fun and lifelong enrichment. As in past years, we challenge young rockhounds to pick up a book and learn about the things that they see when visiting the Museum.

The Challenge starts July 1st and continues through August 30th. Children can choose between one of two challenges – topic or outdoor. Register your child to receive a FREE admission pass (this will be sent in the mail), and have them bring one of the completed reading challenges to the Museum Gift Store by August 30th for a special prize.

This Summer Reading Challenge is for readers of all ages and abilities, even children who have not yet begun to read.
